A former WWE representative thinks the Raw match wasn't required

This week's episode of "WWE Raw" began with a tag team battle, as Dolph Ziggler and AJ Styles were beaten by Finn Balor and Damian Priest instead of the usual promo segment.

Despite the fact that the event included four of WWE's biggest talents, former WWE official Jimmy Korderas stated that he "felt the contest was superfluous to start the programme."

During his latest "Reffin Rant" on Twitter, Korderas stated, "I am all for opening Monday Night Raw in a new manner, but give me a reason why."

I appreciate that they began with a match as opposed to a promotional part, simply to freshen things up.

Yes, often there is a lengthy promo part, but this week it felt like the match was simply held for the purpose of having one...

It seems unnecessary that the contest occur. They could have begun with Judgment Day performing a promo section in the ring, followed by Edge and Rey and Dom entering the ring, all without the match.

Edge and the Mysterios brawled with Balor and Priest after the match, until Rhea Ripley grabbed a kendo stick and her stablemates dragged her out of the ring to halt the incident.

This led to the introduction of a new match for WWE's Clash at the Castle, in which Edge and Rey will join up against Balor and Priest, with Dominik and Ripley on the outside.
