Jesse Lee Soffer is Leaving Chicago P.D. after 10 seasons

Another significant shift in the Dick Wolf universe: Jesse Lee Soffer, who portrays Det. Jay Halstead on NBC's Chicago P.D., is departing the show, according to Deadline.

The original cast member Soffer is anticipated to quit the police drama in the fall.

In 2014, Chicago P.D. made its debut. Next month, the show's tenth season will begin.

In a statement, he said, "I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dick Wolf and everyone at Wolf Entertainment and thank the incredible fans for their unwavering support over the past 10 years.

Everyone who works on the show has put their heart and soul into making this hour-long drama every week. I'm proud of my time as Det. Jay Halstead, and I always will be.

Giddish is the second actor in the past week to depart a Wolf drama.

The news that Kelli Giddish will be leaving Law & Order: SVU after 12 seasons was made public on August 24. She portrays Amanda Rollins, a detective.

Thanks to the Chicago franchise and his tenure on As the World Turns from 2004 to 2010, Soffer has a sizable fan base.
